Spanish newspaper Sport report that Barcelona have begun talks with Milan midfielder Franck Kessie for a June transfer. The Ivorian international will be a free agent in the summer and talks over a contract extension have broken down.
Sport suggest Kessie has informed Milan that he won’t be renewing and that talks with Barca are in progress.
Both parties have revealed their financial stance and demands over a possible agreement and things are moving closer and closer.
Kessie is reportedly keen on the move and wants to complete a deal soon, despite interest from Premier League sides Everton and Arsenal.
Update 17:00: Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that there has been a ‘strong acceleration’ in talks between Barcelona and Franck Kessie. They’ve ‘intensified contacts’ with Kessie and offered him €6.5m per season. Milan learned of the offer directly from the players agent.
