Gazzetta: Koopmeiners to Juventus, the final hurdle remains

Start

Teun Koopmeiners’ move to Juventus appears to be nearing completion, with only a few final details left to iron out. The Dutch midfielder, who was notably absent from Atalanta’s UEFA Super Cup match against Real Madrid in Warsaw, has made his intentions clear: he wants to start a new chapter in his career with Juventus in Turin.

Gazzetta dello sport report how despite Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi’s recent comments suggesting a possible reconciliation, Koopmeiners seems determined to force a move. The player’s absence from training, initially explained by a medical certificate, was followed by Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini’s revealing interview with “Eco di Bergamo.”

Juventus have responded by submitting a significant offer, with Technical Director Cristiano Giuntoli aiming to secure the versatile midfielder for Thiago Motta’s squad. The proposed deal is reportedly worth over €50 million, approaching Atalanta’s €60 million euro valuation. Juventus has offered €50 million plus €5 million in bonuses.

The Turin club are eager to have Koopmeiners available for their second Serie A fixture against Hellas Verona, giving him time to train with the team beforehand. However, Atalanta is still searching for a replacement, with Celtic’s Matt O’Riley emerging as a top target.
