Genoa Accelerate to Secure Vitinha from Marseille


Genoa are actively pursuing a significant attacking reinforcement in the ongoing transfer window and In recent hours, the Rossoblù have intensified negotiations with Olympique Marseille for Vitinha. Contacts are underway at present, with the operation potentially being a loan with a buyout option.

The potential acquisition of the Portuguese midielder comes with an additional twist, involving the return of Ruslan Malinovskyi. Currently on loan at Genoa from Marseille, the Ukrainian attacking midfielder could see his loan made permanent as part of this double operation.

The Portuguese forward, acquired a year ago for €32 million from Braga, may move to Italy on a loan deal with an option to buy, expected to be between €20 and €25 million. Olympique Marseille might allow Vitinha to move on loan if Genoa exercises the buyout option for Ruslan Malinovskyi, with the redemption fee set at €10 million.

Born in 2000, Vitinha is a Portuguese striker who developed through the ranks at Braga. With a total of 67 appearances for the Portuguese club, he scored 28 goals and provided 9 assists, winning a national cup. These impressive numbers prompted Olympique Marseille to invest in him in the summer of 2022. In France, over a season and a half, Vitinha played 43 matches, scoring 6 goals and contributing 4 assists across all competitions.

Vitinha’s prowess is not limited to club football; he has also excelled in the Portuguese youth national teams. In the U21 national squad, he scored 4 goals in 10 total appearances.
