Gianluca Pessotto: ‘Sporting will be a good challenge’

Juventus director Gianluca Pessotto warns that the game against Sporting CP will be ‘complicated’ but sees it as a good challenge for the club. The Bianconeri have been drawn against the Portuguese giants in the quarter-finals of the competition and speaking with Mediaset (as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb), Pessotto talked about the potential difficulties for the Old Lady against a young and motivated Sporting team:

“It will be a good challenge against a strong opponent that proved it again by eliminating Arsenal on Thursday.

“Sporting also dropped down to the Europa League from a Champions League group that went so-so, they will want to do well in the competition like us.

“The draw is challenging. Sporting is a strong and young team, although they are chasing Benfica in the league.

“In case we make it through the round, we will meet United or Sevilla. The draw is complicated, but we are Juventus and we have a duty to fight until the end. The others must also be concerned about potentially facing us.”
