Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli suggested that the club will sit down with coach Max Allegri when the time is right: “We are happy with what Allegri is doing.” The Bianconeri boss was speaking to Sky Sport Italia ahead of their clash with Frosinone, and suggested they may look to continue with Allegri, despite a recent run of four matches without a win:
“The coach has amassed 54 points, it is right to continue with this team that has given us great satisfaction so far. Objectives? We must work to achieve the goal set at the beginning of the season, which is qualification for the Champions League. If we were to finish fourth, it would be a positive season; we need to balance the books and we are working on a project that started three years ago with the young players developed by us.”
“Allegri? It’s a forward-looking job, and we are happy with what Allegri is doing. The coach is very happy to stay at Juventus, and we want to keep him. In due course, we will sit down and talk.”
“Alcaraz? We had the numerical need to field a player who wouldn’t disrupt the group, of which we are pleased. 48 hours before the deadline, we had this opportunity without time to negotiate the buyout clause. We believe in the qualities of the player. He is young, he needs to gain experience at certain levels. It’s a correct light operation from both a technical and economic point of view. We didn’t need to sign a starter, but a potential prospect.”
