Giuntoli meets Rabiot’s agent, Bayern Munich also in the mix

Start

Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli met with Adrien Rabiot’s mother-agent, but Bayern Munich are also following the midfielder. The Frenchman is into the last few months of his contract with the Bianconeri, with no talks over a contract extension having taken place.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via CM) report that Giuntoli continues to work, and despite the recent unsuccessful attempts, he has kept in touch with Veronique Rabiot, who manages her son’s football interests. The latest meeting, as reported by Gazzetta, took place on Saturday on the sidelines of the clash between Allegri’s team and Milan. Juventus has not yet made a formal offer for an extension; the first step must come from the player, and until Rabiot formally expresses his desire to stay in Turin, the negotiation remains on hold.

In the past, Rabiot has often expressed his desire to try his hand in the Premier League sooner or later. Nevertheless, last summer he chose to stay, signing for another year with the Old Lady and receiving a small raise in wages. However, repeating the operation on the same terms (a salary of €7.5 million net per season) for several seasons will be extremely complicated for Juventus.

Rabiot is not satisfied with an annual deal and wants a longer agreement; to make it possible, a small sacrifice from the midfielder himself would be needed. Discussions continue while the negotiation remains frozen, and lurking in the background are potential threats. Among the international suitors, highlighted by La Gazzetta, attention is drawn to Bayern Munich, who have been monitoring Rabiot’s situation.
