Immobile agent: “Ciro has turned down many offers over the years”

Agent Alessandro Moggi insists that Ciro Immobile wants to remain with Lazio, while Alberto Gilardino is also set to remain in charge of Genoa. Immobile has been linked with a move to the Saudi league, while Gilardino has been touted as a potential successor to Vincenzo Italiano at Fiorentina. Speaking at the Gran Galà Adiscop (via GDM.com), Moggi specifically addressed the future of the Lazio striker and the Genoa coach:

“Ciro is Lazio’s history and captain. He has a contract binding him to the Biancocelesti for two more seasons. He has received many offers over the years, but both he and President Lotito have always rejected them. He has always honourably accepted to stay and make history with Lazio.”

Then, the announcement about Gilardino’s future: “He has declared that he will remain at Genoa. I cannot deny what he has stated. The signature? I don’t know when it will be, but as Alberto said, the will of both parties is to confirm this path that is bringing great satisfaction, with results that affect both the sporting and financial aspects. As he also mentioned, there are some details to be sorted out, and in the coming days, we will have updates on this matter.”

Moggi then continued in the mixed zone: “Receiving this award is a great satisfaction, especially receiving an award in such a complex and competitive sector as ours.” Regarding Nico Gonzalez, another client of his, recently renewed: “It’s right that there are always sirens for good players; then it’s the players together with the clubs that determine the future. Nico is very happy in Florence. There will be interests, but the intention was to make a long-term commitment.” On the topic of Simeone: “A player who arrived last year in Naples, he has done very well, and the club made a significant investment in him, as he is an important player. His story is still to be written.”

There was also space for some considerations on Valentin Carboni: “An absolute talent, a 2005 player called up by the Argentine national team and defined as one of Messi and Di Maria’s substitutes by the coach. He has a significant valuation and belongs to a very important club, so he is rightly valued.” On Beltràn: “It’s never easy to come from South America to Europe; I believe that Italiano has been very good at carving out the role that suits him best. He is now growing a lot.”

Finally, on Zanoli: “The loan to Salernitana is straightforward, as they say in jargon, there is no option to buy, so he will return to the base. I believe his future is far from Napoli; with the acquisition of Mazzocchi, they have highlighted and certified a closure in that position, with Di Lorenzo as a starter and captain. I think it’s right to give Zanoli the opportunity to play in a club that can give him confidence for twelve months. I continue to believe that he can represent the future of Italian football in that role.”
