Inter linked with move for Alvaro Morata

Start

Inter have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Alvaro Morata, despite Roma and Juventus being linked with the Spanish striker. The Nerazzurri have decided to give up on their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku after learning of his reported talks with Juventus, leaving them in need of a number nine for next season.

Sky Sport Italia report that Atletico Madrid are prepared to let Morata leave this summer, but only for €20 million, but no club has offered that amount as yet. The Nerazzurri are also following Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, but he’s expected to cost at least €40 million, while Beto and Mehdi Taremi are also on Inter’s list of options.

Roma are also tracking Morata and went so far as to meet with his agent to understand the costs of signing him, but his expensive salary may be enough to put them off for the moment.

SportItalia’s Alfredo Pedullà reports that Inter have offered €15m for Morata but they are expected to raise that amount as Atletico Madrid are not looking to negotiate on price.
