Inter Milan Bid Farewell to Corporate CEO Antonello as Marotta Takes Full Reins

Inter Milan has officially announced the departure of Alessandro Antonello from his position as Corporate CEO. The news came directly from the club’s official website, marking the end of Antonello’s decade-long tenure with the Nerazzurri. Giuseppe Marotta, who has been serving as both club president and CEO of Sport, will now assume the role of sole CEO for the Italian giants.

Antonello’s exit from Inter opens the possibility of him becoming the new CEO of Roma, who have been searching for an experienced figure to fill the position following Lina Souloukou’s resignation.

During his time at Inter, Antonello played a crucial role in the club’s development, holding various positions since joining in 2015. He initially served as Chief Financial Officer before expanding his responsibilities as Chief Operations Officer the following season. In 2017, he reached the top echelons of the club when he was appointed Chief Executive Officer, a position he maintained under two different ownership regimes.

His work was highly valued, providing Inter with significant managerial contributions in both company development and revenue generation. Throughout his tenure, Antonello’s professionalism contributed to the club’s conquest of seven trophies: two Scudetti, two Coppa Italia titles, and three Supercoppa Italiana victories.

Marotta expressed his gratitude towards Antonello, stating, “On behalf of the entire club and the Nerazzurri family, I wish to thank Alessandro for his great dedication to our club. On a personal level, I also want to acknowledge the great human qualities that I have appreciated since my first day at Inter. His work has undoubtedly helped all of us to begin this period of victories. Among the many trophies we won together, I think the day we conquered the Second Star will forever be a memory that unites us.”

Antonello reflected on his departure, saying, “I want to thank everyone who made these ten years in black and blue unforgettable. From the employees to the players, from the coaches to the managers, from the sponsors to the suppliers. On a day like this, my gratitude also goes to the great Nerazzurri family, made up of millions of passionate fans. Working for this glorious company will be an indelible memory that makes me proud. I dedicated every possible hour of my time to Inter, and I am happy to have contributed to its history, starting from a difficult period until today, when the commitment of all of us has brought the club back to the top in Italy and Europe.”
