Inter to sell Casadei, sign Akanji

Premier League side Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Inter youngster Cesare Casadei with the proceeds of the sale expected to go on Manuel Akanji. The Nerazzurri are close to agreeing terms with the Blues who have been keen to sign the young midfielder for the last few weeks.

The Guardian report that Chelsea have won the race to sign Casadei and are expected to complete the move this week, with the 19-year-old expected to cost them £12m.

Their previous two bids have been rejected but the latest offer is expected to be accepted but its unclear if the young talent will go straight into the first team or sent back on loan in Serie A.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that once the deal is agreed, and subject to Inter president Steven Zhang’s approval, the funds will be redirected to make an offer for Dortmund defender Akanji, who is keen to make the move to Serie A.
