Reports from Italy suggest Inter Ultras had a meeting with the clubs former defender, Milan Skriniar. According to the report from Calciomercato, the influence and pressure exerted by Inter’s organized supporters and their top representatives seemingly reached everywhere, even inside the locker room of Simone Inzaghi’s team. Beyond conversations with the head of the ultras, Ferdico, to convince the club to grant a higher quantity of tickets for the 2023 Champions League final, the Nerazzurri coach was forced to accept tactical suggestions from Ferdico during a period of poor results in the league. But as a spectator, he witnessed what would happen to his former captain Milan Skriniar.
The Slovak defender, who would join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of the 2022/2023 season, is the protagonist of another ugly story that has little to do with football. Tension with the Nerazzurri grew after his failed transfer to the Parisian club in the summer of 2022: Inter and PSG couldn’t agree on the price, so Skriniar remained almost like an outcast for an entire season, as an agreement on contract extension with Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio would never come.
Over the months, Inter’s top executives never hid their frustration with how the story concluded. But apparently, and according to what can be read from the ordinance issued by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office investigating the relationships between ultras and Milan teams, even the heads of the curva were not particularly happy with the turn of events.
It is reported that Ferdico and his associates pushed to meet Skriniar at Appiano Gentile, with a real ‘blitz’ at Inter’s sports center. The response from Massimiliano Silva, responsible for relations between the club and organized groups, was that the club said it would be better not to come to Appiano due to cameras and various issues, and that it would be better to meet in another place.
And so, away from prying eyes and ears, the parties had a confrontation in a bar in Milan, near the San Siro stadium. “His voice was trembling, he was a bit scared,” Mauro Nepi, a prominent ultra arrested along with Ferdico yesterday, told magistrates Paolo Storari and Sara Ombra.
In the end, Skriniar transferred to Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he signed an agreement until June 2028. However, he has found little personal satisfaction on the field, as with Luis Enrique on the bench, the Slovak has played just 34 matches.
