Despite Inter falling to a 2-0 defeat at the Allianz against Bayern Munich, Inzaghi witnessed improvements within his squad this evening within match-week six of the Champions League.
In a match where there was not much at stake as it was impossible for Inter to surpass the Bundesliga giants within the group standings due to the five-point difference between both squads with only one game remaining, Nagelsmann’s sqaud got the best of the Nerazzurri following a well-placed header by Benjamin Pavard, as well as a long-range screamer from Eric Choupo-Moting.
While speaking to the press, relayed by Fc Inter News, the Emilian tactician provided his thoughts on his squad’s display at the Allianz:
Have you seen any progress?
Absolutely yes, we got off to a good start, there was Barella’s penalty / non-penalty, then Lautaro’s chance. On the only uncertainty we had, we conceded goals, but I got more answers even from those who played less. I’m satisfied with the qualification, in my opinion here in Munich we played a serious and organized match.
Are you curious about what a full-fledged match would have been like?
In this group we have shown that the distances have shortened, I am thinking of the double confrontation with Barcelona. The Catalans with Bayern are among the best in Europe and we have played in these games. The difference is made by the details.
An opinion on Correa’s performance, also from a Juve perspective?
We looked for the attackers too little in the first half, Tucu and Lauti gave us a hand as they could, then Dzeko and Carboni came in and helped us because at that moment the distances got a little longer and Bayern had players of great racing.
