Inzaghi: ‘We will play our cards in the final’

Start

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi says his team will play their cards in the Champions League final against Manchester City. In his final pre-match presser of the season, the Nerazzurri coach spoke of the need to stay focused, limit mistakes, knowing the strength of their opponents, who he believes are the strongest team in the world right now:

“It’s a great feeling, we were playing so much in this final part of the season, and we reasoned day after day and game after game. We had a fantastic run, we will play our cards. There will be moments when we will have difficulties, we will need attention.”

“We know that Manchester City is at this moment the strongest team in the world, but we are aware of our path. We want to stay focused, limit mistakes and do our best. We had some difficult moments in which we grew a lot. The guys have been great at squeezing all together, putting in a great effort, the one that takes us to Istanbul.”

“We know that we have a chance to write the history of our club: together we will try to do the feat. That extra sacrifice and running we owe to our fans and our club, we are calm.”

“I coach a group of real men that I would not change with anyone, the boys are training in the best way. Zhang? His words have always helped me, he has always been very close even in difficult moments of the season.”

“We know the strength of Manchester City and we know the strength of Haaland, we should behave as a team.”

“Penalties? We have tried them and we will try them. Manchester City’s defense? It’s very solid, we know it. Beyond the form, we know what we will meet tomorrow and we will try to play the game that you have to play in a final.”

“The three finals of the Italian teams  is a great sign, sorry for Fiorentina and Roma, but now is our moment.”
