Inzaghi: ‘We’ll take the draw’

Start

Simone Inzaghi says he will settle with the 1-1 draw with Juventus but believes Inter should have done better on the opening goal. The Nerazzurri went behind to an early Dusan Vlahovic goal but equalised just minutes later through Lautaro Martinez. Speaking after the match, Inzaghi explained why he will take the draw and revealed why the squad is facing an injury crisis:

“We take the draw as it came. We should have done better on the Juventus goal but we played our game, but the way the match was going it’s ok even if I wouldn’t have signed up for it on the eve of the match. Last year’s game was identical but we lost. We knew they were going to play a waiting game.

“Apart from Juventus and Inter, Napoli and Milan are two great teams to be at the top of the table with other teams that can come up short.

“Now we have a week with Benfica and Napoli. We’re missing players. We had Bastoni, Sanchez and Pavard at home. We hope to recover Sanchez. Cuadrado has only trained since Thursday. We are in emergency because we play a lot and it’s not easy.”
