Italian teams learn Champions League opponents

The Champions League last 16 draw has taken place with Milan facing Spurs, Napoli taking on Frankfurt and Inter to play Porto. Three Italian sides progressed to the next stage with Juventus dropping into the Europa League to join Roma, while Fiorentina and Lazio will play in the Conference League.

It will be a return to the San Siro for Spurs coach Antonio Conte who previously managed Milan’s rivals Inter in Serie A. Tottenham finished top of their group while the Rossoneri finished second behind Chelsea in Group E

Napoli topped Group A, ahead of second place Liverpool on goal difference, and will take on current Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt, who finished second in Group D.

Inter were drawn in the ‘group of death’ with Barcelona and Bayern but managed to finish second thanks to some historic performances against the Blaugrana, and will face Porto in the next stage.
