Hellas Verona midfielder Ivan Ilic looks set to join Torino before the transfer window closes, snubbing Marseille in the process. The 21-year-old has been the subject of a bidding war between the two clubs, with the Ligue 1 side reportedly the favourites to sign him before the Granata accelerated talks in recent days.
Sky Sport Italia and various other Italian outlets report that Ilic has indeed chosen Torino following his impressive performances for the Gialloblu this season.
Marseille had offered €15m for the Serbian midfielder and were prepared to leave him at Verona on loan until the summer, while Torino presented a deal worth €16m plus €3m in add-ons, also allowing him to stay until the end of the season.
Ilic joined Verona from Manchester City in September 2020, following a positive year on loan that led to a €7.5m move to Veneto.
