Il Corriere dello Sport report that Francesco Acerbi will stand firm on his stance that he did not racially insult Napoli defender Juan Jesus. The Nerazzurri centre-back is set to meet with FIGC Prosecutor Giuseppe Chine as part of the investigation into the alleged racist abuse.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the entire incident is approaching its conclusion, and could be resolved as early as next week. After receiving the additional investigation requested by Chiné, Sports Judge Mastandrea will issue his verdict. As already known, if Acerbi is found guilty of directing a racist insult at Juan Jesus, he will face a heavy suspension, starting from a minimum of 10 matches. At that point, no further consequences regarding his future can be excluded.
The newspaper asserts that Acerbi has continue to reject all accusations and his position has not changed since the initial discussion with Inter, which took place on Monday. The Nerazzurri man maintains that he did not saying anything of a racist nature, and will stick by this when being interviewed by Chine.
