Juventus’ Chiesa agrees terms with Barcelona: Transfer hinges on financial hurdles

Start

Juventus forward Federico Chiesa has reportedly reached an agreement with Barcelona for a potential transfer. However, the deal’s completion now depends on Barcelona’s ability to navigate their current financial constraints.

According to reports rom Calciomercato, Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, has informed Barcelona of the player’s willingness to join the Catalan giants. The Italian international is said to be enthusiastic about Barcelona’s project and open to the move.

The proposed deal would see Chiesa sign a three-year contract with Barcelona until June 2027, earning a net salary of €4 million per year plus €2 million in bonuses. Barcelona is prepared to offer Juventus €10 million plus €3 million in bonuses for the transfer.

However, Barcelona’s financial situation is complicating matters. The club is currently unable to officially register their latest signing, Dani Olmo, due to financial constraints. To proceed with Chiesa’s transfer, Barcelona may need to secure immediate funds from sponsors like Aramark or Nike, find new financing, or provide a bank guarantee covered by their own money.

Recent developments, including the potential sales of Vitor Roque to Real Betis and Clément Lenglet to Atletico Madrid, could free up space and resources for Barcelona to pursue Chiesa.

Juventus, meanwhile, is awaiting an official offer from Barcelona. If the deal with Barcelona falls through, Chelsea and Turkish clubs have been mentioned as alternative destinations for Chiesa, though these options are considered less likely.
