Juventus have received disappointing news as young midfielder Fabio Miretti is set to be out of action for several weeks due to a foot injury. The club’s official website reported that on July 29, Miretti underwent medical examinations at JMedical following a contusion to his right foot. The tests revealed a compound fracture of the third cuneiform bone.
The 20-year-old player will undergo further examinations in 15 days to assess his progress. It is expected that Miretti will be sidelined for at least a month, dealing a blow to Juventus’s midfield options.
This setback comes at an inopportune time for Miretti, who had been hoping to impress new coach Thiago Motta and secure a place in the first team. The young midfielder had put potential loan moves to Empoli and Genoa on hold, aiming to convince Motta of his value to the squad.
Miretti’s last appearance came in Juventus’s recent 3-0 defeat against Nuremberg, where he played the first half before being substituted at halftime for Adzic.
Despite this setback, Miretti’s long-term future at Juventus seems secure. On July 17, he signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2028. This new deal came after a season where Miretti struggled to establish himself as a regular in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans, making 28 appearances and contributing two goals and two assists.
As Juventus prepares for the upcoming season, they will have to navigate the early fixtures without one of their promising young talents.
