Authorities have chosen to prohibit away travel and ticket sales to all residents of the Campania region for the Juventus-Napoli match, also ordering the cancellation of tickets already sold so far.
In recent days, law enforcement had raised concerns about managing the arrival of Napoli fans in the city. Calciomercato report that about 2,300 tickets had already been sold in the away sector, but over 3,000 ultras from Naples were expected in the city. The danger of clashes, especially after what happened during the last away match against Cagliari, was present and high. For this reason, the Prefecture and Police had turned to CASMS for an official opinion.
The National Observatory on Sporting Events, upon receiving the request, confirmed the high degree of risk in allowing Napoli fans to travel and, consequently, suggested that the Prefecture and Police impose the ban. The two authorities therefore chose to follow CASMS’s suggestion by cancelling tickets already sold and imposing a ban on selling other tickets not only for the away sector, but for the entire stadium, to fans residing in Campania.
