Juventus want Kalidou Koulibaly

Start

Reports from Italy continue to link Juventus with a move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly who is in the last year of his contract. The Senegalese international has reportedly told the club that he wishes to leave this summer amid interest from Barcelona, PSG and the Bianconeri.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and SportItalia report that Juve coach Max Allegri views the defender as the perfect replacement for Giorgio Chiellini who left the club this month.

Gazzetta suggest that Napoli know there are few options to exploit the interest to turn it into an auction: PSG are dealing with Inter for Milan Skriniar while Barcelona would be unable to spent the reported €40m  price that Napoli are demanding.

Juventus would be able to use the funds they recently secured from the sale of Merih Demiral and invest them straight into the purchase of Koulibaly.

Napoli have made it known that they would not be prepared to accept any players as part of the deal, however SportItalia suggest it’s worth keeping an eyre on the situation of Federico Gatti.

The young centre-back was signed by Juventus in January and impressed on his Italy debut and Juve could use him as a possible makeweight in any potential move.
