Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dejan Kulusevski has stated that he wants to ‘stay at Spurs’ despite the ongoing saga with manager Antonio Conte. Tensions have been rising at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for some time now and Conte recently hit out at his players and the club after their 3-3 draw with Southampton. In a recent press conference, as quoted by Corriere dello Sport, Kulusevski shared his thoughts on Conte’s outburst and his future. The Swedish international is still officially with Juventus until June and could return back to Turin, unless Spurs decide to go through with the option to buy or trigger the purchase if the player features in 50% of the club’s Premier League matches and they qualify for the Champions League.
“Conte’s situation will not affect the option to buy for me, absolutely not. I want to stay at Spurs, of course . A possible release? He’s still there right now and we all have to take that into account. I don’t know what it will be, but how in life things change. Then you have to be ready for change and life will go on. His words did not offend me. Sometimes I don’t play well and I take responsibility. I respect what he said, it has helped me a lot in my career, it has been important and I respect that. He was as disappointed as we are and we have to accept that.”
