Lazio are preparing to officially announce Marco Baroni as their new head coach, while also working on strengthening their squad with several key targets.
Sky Sport Italia report that Lazio are considering reinforcing the centre of their defence and have their eyes on Nicolas Valentini, a left-footed central defender from Boca Juniors. Born in 2001, Valentini’s contract with Boca Juniors expires on December 31, 2024. Given that he hasn’t been featuring regularly due to contract renewal issues, Lazio might seize the opportunity to acquire him this summer by paying a compensation fee to Boca. Additionally, Lazio are also interested in Josh Doig, who has been relegated to Serie B with Sassuolo.
In the attacking department, Lazio are keen on enhancing their options, and one prominent target for the trequartista role is Colpani from Monza.
Another player who has caught Baroni’s eye is Tijjani Noslin, Verona’s versatile attacker. Contacts have already been established between Lazio President Lotito and Verona’ Setti, as is customary in negotiations between the two clubs.
While new signings are a priority, Lazio are also looking to offload players who no longer fit into their plans. One such player is Marcos Antonio, who has returned from a loan spell at PAOK. Flamengo have shown interest in him, and an offer is currently under consideration.
