Lazio are set to sign Verona centre-back Nicolò Casale who has already completed his club medicals. The 24-year-old spent the last season on loan at Empoli where he attracted the attention of a number of Serie A side, but the Biancocelesti have moved quickest.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Lazio have completed the deal for Casale with only the official announcement due.
The deal is expected to cost Lazio €7m plus bonuses after a five-hour meeting between club management and the player’s agent, Mario Giuffredi.
Monza were also very interested in the youngster who made 28 appearances for Empoli last season, but Lazio had been monitoring him for some time and beat the opposition.
