Matias Soulé’s agent, Martin Guastadisegno, has spoken about the player’s recent transfer from Juventus to Roma in an interview with retesport.it. The Argentine winger’s move to the Giallorossi was made official yesterday, with Juve expected to net almost €28m from the sale.
Speaking about the move, Guastadisegno expressed gratitude for the warm welcome from Roma fans, stating, “The reception doesn’t surprise me, I know Roma’s fanbase, and we thank them.”
The agent revealed the circumstances behind the move, explaining, “We evaluated many possibilities in the market. When we understood with Mati that Juve had to let him go due to financial and budget issues, they needed to sell. We realized that among the many offers received, Roma was the perfect one. The team is enormous, it’s in the world’s capital.”
Guastadisegno highlighted Soulé’s enthusiasm for the move, saying, “When Roma’s call came, he asked me to do everything to come to Roma. He didn’t want to hear any other proposal.” He also thanked Frosinone, Angelozzi, and Di Francesco for their role in Soulé’s development, as well as Juventus for listening to the player’s wishes.
The agent disclosed that the transfer discussions began before the end of the season. He shared an anecdote about Soulé’s growing interest in Roma: “I can reveal that in April, he watched the match against Leverkusen at the Olimpico. He left the stadium and told me, ‘It would be wonderful to play here one day.'”
Regarding the role of Roma’s coach and Soulé’s compatriot, Guastadisegno added, “Daniele [De Rossi] was very important, he called and involved him. And Paulo [Dybala] is very happy, he’s been available to Mati from the start, but the others are also pampering him.”
The agent concluded by emphasizing the importance of Soulé’s willingness in the transfer, stating, “His will is fundamental. I want to see the players I manage happy.”
