Middle Eastern fund interested in buying Inter

Start

US investment bank Raine Group has reportedly found a Middle Eastern fund who are interested in acquiring Serie A club Inter. Tuttosport report that the as-yet unnamed fund is ready to buy the Nerazzurri for close to €1 billion, which are the terms set out by the Zhang family, the current owners of the club.

Il Corriere dello Sport report that the Zhang family still have to repay a  €275m loan to Oaktree Capital by May 20, 2024, which could rise based on the interest rates that are part of the agreement.

The newspapers suggest that the Zhang family are at a crossroads with the club right now, and could consider selling Inter in the months ahead.

Another option would be for the Suning Group to add minority partners, rather than selling the club outright.
