Milan have stepped up their to secure the signing of Youssouf Fofana from Monaco but face competition from Manchester United and Atletico Madrid. An agreement with the French international midfielder was reached 15 days ago, and in recent hours, all details have been finalized, thanks in part to the excellent relationship between his agent and Milan’s sporting director, Geoffrey Moncada. The deal includes a salary of approximately €3 million plus €500,000 in bonuses per year for four years, with an option for a fifth year.
New Offer on the Table
Calciomercato now report that Milan are set to present a new offer to Monaco after their initial bid of €12 million plus bonuses was deemed unsatisfactory. The Rossoneri understand they need to reach around €20 million, given that Monaco’s initial asking price was €25 million. This valuation is considered high, especially since Fofana has only one year left on his contract and has already expressed his desire to leave by not accepting a renewal offer.
Competition from Atletico Madrid and Manchester United
Milan’s pursuit of Fofana has encountered competition from Atletico Madrid and Manchester United. Both clubs have entered the race, making initial inquiries with the player’s agents and Monaco. Despite this, Milan remains in a strong position, having moved first and already secured an agreement with Fofana. However, they must act swiftly to avoid any surprises.
