Milan to finalise Sportiello signing

Milan are close to agreeing a deal to sign Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello on a free transfer for next season as a backup goalkeeper. The Rossoneri are looking to bolster their defensive line and are will secure their first summer signing in January by agreeing personal terms with the keeper.

Sky Sport Italia report that Milan have made contact with the agent of Sportiello and are already working to secure a deal for next season.

It’s likely that the move would make Sportiello the number two goalkeeper at Milan behind Mike Maignan with Ciprian Tatarusanu dropping down the pecking order.

Atalanta currently have Juan Musso ias their number one with Sportiello out of contract at the end of the season, he seems open to a move elsewhere in the summer.

It would be the first 2023/24 signing for the Rossoneri as Sportiello is free to entertain offers from other clubs in January.
