Milan to sign Malick Thiaw

Milan are set to sign Schalke defender Malick Thiaw with the young defender expected in Italy later today. The deal has moved at pace with the Rossoneri stepping up their pursuit of the 21-year-old to ensure his singing before the close of the window.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Milan have reached an agreement with the Bundesliga side and that Thiaw will sign his contract with club on Monday.

The transfer is expected to cost the Rossoneri €5-6m and will be a permanent one, having first pondered several loan options on the market.

Thiaw has spent all of his professional career with Schalke having come up through their youth set-up. He’s made 61 appearances for the first team since his breakthrough in 2019, scoring 3 goals over three full seasons.
