Milan have opted to trigger Zirkzee’s release clause of €40 million, bypassing any further negotiations with teh Rossoblu. The player himself is eager to join the Rossoneri ranks, especially with the presence of his idol Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the current Senior Advisor of RedBird and a key advocate of the club’s vision under owner Cardinali.
Milan’s position is strengthened by Bayern Munich’s lack of interest (despite holding a 40% sell-on clause) due to their existing striking options and the absence of official bids from Arsenal and Manchester United, who are yet to decide on their transfer strategies. Milan have already reached an agreement with Zirkzee on contractual terms: a five-year deal worth €4 million per season (including bonuses). The remaining hurdle is to persuade Joorabchian, whose consent is crucial for the overall agreement.
