New Juventus striker Arek Milik explained that he chose the ’14’ shirt in honour of his idol, French striker Thierry Henry. Speaking to the clubs official TV channel, the Polish international gave his first impressions on joining the club and what it means to play for the Bianconeri:
I am thrilled to be here, it’s a great day for me. I’ve signed for a top team, one of the best in the world, I am very happy also because I’m back in Italy. I spent four years here, so I am really happy.
The team already has its own playing style and philosophy with strong players. I hope to grow with them and have an impact, becoming an even stronger player and learning every day.
France? It was a change for me, it was a different league with a different style. Surely it was a great experience, but as I said, I missed Italy a bit so I am happy to be back.
No.14> I chose it because many others had already been taken. However, one of my idols, Thierry Henry, wore the No.14, so I picked the same.”
