Monza nearing agreement for Colpani’s move to Fiorentina

Start

Monza are close to agreeing terms with Fiorentina for the transfer of midfielder Andrea Colpani, with the deal expected to be completed imminently. The 25-year-old has been a target for the Viola since Raffaele Palladino’s move to Florence, having previously managed Colpani at Monza.

Calciomercato report that Tuesday was an intense day for Adriano Galliani, especially during the evening hours. First, he had a productive contact with Fiorentina regarding the sale of Colpani. Then, he held talks with Udinese for goalkeeper Marco Silvestri. There is already a basic agreement with the Pozzo family for a permanent transfer at €1.5 million, confirming the earlier report by Sportitalia that Monza has found Di Gregorio’s replacement.

Colpani, a true favorite of Palladino, is set to take on the role of right attacking midfielder in Fiorentina’s lineup, alternating with Nico Gonzalez or potentially replacing the Argentine if he departs. Colpani’s versatility allows him to play in various positions without any issues. Fiorentina is aware that their new coach has made only one explicit request in the transfer market, and they are determined to fulfill it. This is why Pradè and Goretti are prioritizing the negotiations with Monza.

The direct contact last night has brought Fiorentina closer to securing Colpani. The discussions are centered around a loan with an obligation to buy and a future resale clause in favor of Monza. Fiorentina has offered €14 million, while Monza is asking for €17 million. It is believed that a compromise can be reached, with the final amount likely to be somewhere in the middle.
