Monza Secure Inter Defender Palacios on Loan

Start

Monza have completed the loan signing of Tomas Palacios from Inter Milan, marking another strategic move in their quest to escape Serie A relegation. The 22-year-old Argentine defender will join the club on a six-month loan deal, with Monza set to cover his entire salary.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the transfer was finalized on Monday, with the clubs agreeing to a dry loan arrangement. Palacios, who has struggled to find playing time at Inter, was not called up for Inter’s match against Lecce on Sunday, January 26, signalling the imminent move.

Monza are scheduling Palacios’ medical examinations for Tuesday, January 28, and Wednesday, January 29. This move represents an important reinforcement for the struggling Serie A side, who are desperate to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes.

The young defender, who originally joined Inter from Independiente Rivadavia last summer for €6.5 million plus potential bonuses, has made only two brief appearances totalling ten minutes in Serie A this season. The loan move offers him an opportunity to gain crucial first-team experience while providing Monza with much-needed defensive depth.
