Monza has made a significant move in the transfer market by securing the services of goalkeeper Semuel Pizzignacco from Feralpisalò. The 22-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract in the coming hours. Pizzignacco is likely to serve as the backup to a new first-choice goalkeeper, whom the club is still in the process of identifying. Initial targets Pierluigi Gollini and Keylor Navas have fallen through, with Gollini opting for Genoa and negotiations with Navas stalling over final details. Monza is now considering former Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio, with Wojciech Szczesny also a potential, albeit complicated, option.
Incoming Transfers
Calciomercato report that In addition to bolstering their goalkeeping options, Monza has been active in strengthening other areas of the squad. Additionally, Juventus’ Mattia De Sciglio, whose contract expires in 2025, has been linked with a move to Monza to strengthen their flanks.
Outgoing Transfers
On the outgoing front, Monza is working to trim the squad under coach Alessandro Nesta. Players such as Mattia Valoti, Marco D’Alessandro, Andrea Petagna, and Davide Diaw are not part of the coach’s plans. Sassuolo has shown interest in Valoti, with discussions of a potential swap involving goalkeeper Andrea Consigli, although the arrival of Pizzignacco has put this deal on hold. Despite rumors, Andrea Carboni is not expected to leave Monza, as he has expressed his desire to stay with the club.
