More Premier League clubs join Weston McKennie race

Fulham, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa are all interested in signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie. With over three weeks still left of the window, clubs are being continuously linked with the U.S.A. international. Juventus are open to offers for McKennie with a valuation of approximately €30m as they focus on renewing Adrien Rabiot’s contract.

As Foot Italia reported, Villa have declared their interest. Bournemouth and Fulham have now joined their Premier League rivals in pursuing McKennie.

According to Calciomercato, however, the midfielder has already stalled approaches from Villa and Bournemouth, whilst Fulham are the latest outfit to enquire and request information from Juventus, as per Romeo Agresti. These sides are yet to convince McKennie due to reasons concerning ambition.

Although McKennie has stalled approaches from Villa, Gianluca DiMazio has suggested that he still holds an interest in Unai Emery’s new project. He is reportedly already willing to reject Bournemouth, who were prepared to meet Juventus’ original valuation. Fulham, who currently sit 7th in the Premier League, could persuade McKennie with their surprising push for European football this season.

Juventus would be open to offers below their valuation as they seek to bring in funds, but McKennie is set to remain patient in hoping a club playing Champions League football will enter the frame. Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, and Chelsea have been mooted as suitors for McKennie’s signature, but no concrete links have emerged so far.

Young midfielders Fabio Miretti and Nicolò Fagioli are expected to feature more reguarly under Massimiliano Allegri in the second half of the season.
