Bologna manager Thiago Motta says now isn’t the time to talk about his contract renewal, following their elimination in the Coppa Italia. With the game still goalless after extra time, it went down to spot kicks, with the Rossoblu missing their final penalty. Speaking post-match, Motta couldn’t help but hide his disappointment, but insisted it was no time to discuss his future at the club:
“A good match, played well by both. Congratulations to them and we will continue on our way. Tonight we are sad, we don’t like losing, but our path continues, we won’t stop. On the contrary, we increase our confidence and awareness in our strengths, my boys are real men. Today we only missed a goal, but this is also what football is all about.”
“It’s a defeat that hurts, but now we have to get up again immediately. We gave a great performance against a good team in our league. Contract renewal? This is not the moment to talk about it.
“We missed the goal after a very balanced match, we have to digest the defeat and work from tomorrow as we have always done”.
“My secret? Hard work. From the first day of training camp the boys have shown me commitment. It’s a defeat that hurts because we don’t like losing, but now we raise our heads and think about the next league game against Cagliari”.
