Napoli, under the guidance of new manager Antonio Conte, are reportedly on the verge of signing Manchester United winger Mason Greenwood. According to Sport Mediaset, the Italian club is nearing an agreement with the Red Devils for a transfer fee of approximately €30 million.
Sky Sport Italia reports that Napoli have intensified their interest in Greenwood, who is no longer part of Manchester United’s plans. The Partenopei have made significant progress in negotiations, potentially overtaking Serie A rivals Lazio in the race for the English winger’s signature.
Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Getafe, had previously attracted attention from Marseille. However, the French club’s pursuit has been hampered by fan resistance and concerns raised by the city’s mayor, opening the door for Napoli’s approach.
Despite Napoli’s strong position, the deal’s completion may hinge on the club’s ability to offload Jesper Lindstrom. The Danish midfielder’s departure could free up both funds and squad space for Greenwood’s arrival.
Napoli have already been active in the transfer market this summer, securing the services of Leonardo Spinazzola and Rafa Marin. Additionally, Alessandro Buongiorno is currently undergoing a medical in Rome, potentially becoming the club’s third signing of the window.
