Napoli have replacement ready if Giuntoli leaves for Juventus

Start

Napoli are reportedly looking at Empoli sporting director Pietro Accardi in case Cristiano Giuntoli join Juventus this summer. The Bianconeri have made signing a new SD a priority before the beginning of the new campaign and have been linked with the Napoli director throughout this season.

Il Corriere dello Sport (via IlNapolista) report that Juve are edging closer to securing Giuntoli, and have ‘already settled him in their offices’ in Turin. The Bianconeri will have to wait and see what it will cost them, as the director still has one year left on his €1.4m contract in Naples, but a ‘path has been mapped out’ for a move to Turin.

As such, The Partenopei will reportedly look to Empoli’s Pietro Accardi, a man who Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has admired for some time. The two clubs have had numerous dealings in recent years, with Napoli having signed Lorenzo Tonelli, Mirko Valdifiori and, most recently Giovanni Di Lorenzo from Empoli.

Il Corriere point to tacticians Luciano Spalletti and Maurizio Sarri, both of whom enjoyed successful spells with Gli Azzurri before eventually making the move to Napoli, suggesting Accardi could be the latest to make the switch.
