Napoli Interested in Emre Can Following Euro 2024 Performance

Emre Can’s unexpected starring role for Germany at Euro 2024 has caught the attention of Italian giants Napoli. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder, who was a late addition to the German squad, made a significant impact during the tournament.

German newspaper BILD detail how Can, who has been with Dortmund since 2020, was initially left out of Germany’s Euro 2024 squad. However, he was called up as a replacement for Bayern Munich’s young talent Aleksandar Pavlović, who had to withdraw due to illness. This last-minute inclusion proved fortuitous for both Can and the German national team.

The 30-year-old midfielder made the most of his opportunity, featuring in four matches during the tournament. His standout moment came in Germany’s opening game against Scotland, where he scored a goal in the team’s impressive 5-1 victory.

Can’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Napoli now expressing interest in acquiring his services. The Italian club appears to have been impressed by Can’s displays on the international stage.

Borussia Dortmund may be open to discussions regarding Can’s transfer. His current contract with the German club is set to expire in 2024, and there have been no talks of an extension thus far. Reports suggest that Dortmund might be willing to entertain lucrative offers for the player
