Napoli are no longer expected to head to a training retreat until the end of the season after chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis met with the players and coach. The Azzurri lost 3-2 against Empoli on Sunday, conceding three goals in the last ten minutes of the match.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that De Laurentiis met with the Napoli players and coach Luciano Spalletti to express his disappointment over their recent form.
The squad had been expected to to a training retreat until the season ended but it’s reported that they have now changed their minds and plan to meet every Saturday for dinner.
De Laurentiis reportedly pressed the players for an explanation over their recent disappointing results having spoken to Spalletti on Monday.
The chairman is reportedly unhappy with the coach and Gian Piero Gasperini, Vincenzo Italiano and Roberto De Zerbi have all been linked with the role.
