Napoli secure Brescianini: Medical scheduled for Tuesday at Villa Stuart

Start

Napoli have finalized the acquisition of Marco Brescianini from Frosinone, following the sale of Jens Cajuste to Brentford. The midfielder’s medical examinations are scheduled for Tuesday at Villa Stuart in Rome. This move comes as part of Napoli’s efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the Serie A season, which kicks off next weekend.

Goal Italia report how Antonio Conte, Napoli’s coach, had urged the club to accelerate their transfer activities, particularly in midfield. Brescianini is seen as a strategic addition to bolster the team’s central options, complementing players like Lobotka, Anguissa, and Folorunsho. While Lobotka and Anguissa are expected to start the season as first-choice midfielders, Brescianini’s performance could influence Conte’s selection decisions.

The deal with Frosinone involves a loan with an obligation to buy, with an initial fee of €1 million and a further €11 million for the final purchase. Once Brescianini completes his medical, he will sign a contract binding him to Napoli.

Looking ahead, Napoli are also targeting other key players to further enhance their squad. The club is interested in Billy Gilmour from Brighton for the midfield and David Neres from Benfica for the attacking midfield role. These potential signings are part of a broader strategy to strengthen the team as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming season.
