AC Milan Sweating On Pavlovic Injury: The Latest On His Chances Vs Como
Pavlovic is now a doubt for the Como game.
AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic is a doubt for Thursday’s trip to Como after suffering a nasty head injury against Fiorentina.
Pavlovic had to come off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi following a heavy aerial clash with Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo.
The Serbia international suffered a deep cut above his left eyebrow and required nine stitches.
Pavlovic returned to Milanello and completed a recovery session. However, it was lighter than his teammates as staff continue to monitor him.
What is happening now with Pavlovic and when Milan will decide
Sky Italia say Pavlovic is still ‘dazed’ and will be assessed day by day, with extra caution advised for any head injury.
The match at Como is scheduled for Thursday 15 January, a rearranged Serie A fixture, leaving Milan little time for a full recovery.
Because of the delicate situation involving any kind of head injury, Sky say Pavlovic is doubtful for the Como game.
This is a worrying development as Gazzetta dello Sport claimed a day earlier that Pavlovic would likely be fine to play.
If Pavlovic does not make the squad, Massimiliano Allegri may have to reshuffle his defence for a tricky away match.
Fikayo Tomori is one option to start, having served his suspension.

Why Pavlovic matters for Milan
Pavlovic has been a regular starter for Milan this season, offering pace, strength and aggression in duels.
Milan’s recent schedule has been intense, and even small fitness doubts can become bigger problems amid so many fixtures.
On Sunday, Milan drew 1-1 with Fiorentina after conceding in the second half and scoring late to rescue a point.
The game saw Niclas Fullkrug start for Milan for the first time, and he earned largely positive reviews.
That result kept Milan near the summit, but Allegri has stressed the need to turn draws into wins.
Allegri also received criticism from Calciomercato’s Andrea Longoni after the game.
Como’s home games have been difficult for visitors, and Milan will want stability at the back from the first minute.
The final call on Pavlovic is likely to come close to kick-off against Cesc Fabregas’ side.
