Soccer Supporters React To Ademola Lookman’s Transfer Request

Start

Soccer supporters have reacted after the Ademola Lookman transfer saga took another twist on Sunday afternoon.

Lookman blasted Atalanta and accused the Dea of breaking promises. The 2024 African Player of the Year also admitted he has handed in a formal request to quit the Gewiss Stadium.

The player has also explained to the club’s fans he didn’t wish for things to become so bitter. However, Lookman is keen to move on and believes Atalanta are blocking his exit and saw no other alternative than to speak out publicly.

Ademola Lookman Transfer Saga

As it stands, the Ademola Lookman transfer saga still has plenty of twists and turns to navigate before his long term future is determined.

According to offshore sportsbooks, a move to Inter is odds on but it won’t be plain sailing from the Nerazzurri’s perspective.

Last season’s Champions League runners-up have already seen a number of bids rejected. That has upset Lookman who is now trying to manafacture his move to the San Siro.

At the time of writing, a transfer to Cristian Chivu’s side is all that Lookman seeks and there are no other serious offers for the Nigerian to contemplate. In fact, he has reportedly already agreed terms with Inter.

The 2024 Europa League final hat-trick hero posted on his social media channels how he feels Atalanta haven’t been true to their word about letting him seek a new venture.

How Much Will Ademola Lookman Cost?

In July, it was confirmed that Atalanta wanted €50million for Inter target Ademola Lookman. The Nerazzurri bid €45m with £43m of that fee coming up front.

However, the Dea rejected that offer which put the wheels in motion for one of the biggest soap operas in Serie A transfer history. On Monday, Lookman reportedly skipped the team lunch in Bergamo.

Even Corriere dello Sport editor Ivan Zazzaroni weighed in with some choice words for Ivan Juric’s side. As it stands, it feels that Cristian Chivu’s side will have to part with €50m up front to get their man.

Lookman also believes his current employers have not stayed true to their word. He insisted he was promised a move should a substantial offer come in. Which Lookman believes Inter has already done.

Atalanta now appears to be playing hard ball. They value Lookman at €40m to none Serie A clubs and ten million more to those in Italy’s elite soccer division. They don’t appear to be budging on that stance.

Will Ademola Lookman Eventually Get His Move?

Ademola Lookman is doing his utmost to force through his transfer to Inter. After three successful years at the Gewiss, he wants to challenge for the Scudetto and Champions League title.

The nature of his forced move is not one that Lookman or Atalanta would have desired. However, when a player wants to quit, there isn’t really much that can be done other than to grant said wish.

In a way, supporters of the Dea can’t be too angry that Lookman wants to move on. Naturally, the way the saga is playing out in public is something that nobody associated with the club would have wanted.

Nonetheless, it does appear that Lookman will eventually get his way and complete a move to Inter. It appears that the correct fee must be met before negotiations can continue.

Meanwhile, soccer supporters have had their say on the drama. Many replied to Lookman’s X (formerly Twitter) post on Sunday sharing their views.
