Fabrizio Romano Confirms Como Have Opened Talks With Benfica Wonderkid Andreas Schjelderup

Start

According to Fabrizio Romano, the latest Andreas Schjelderup transfer news has revealed that Como have opened talks with the Benfica star.

The Portuguese giants turned down a number of bids from European clubs during the winter transfer window. However, their resolve has been tested once again with Cesc Fabregas’ side keen to sign the Norwegian wonderkid.

Spanish champions Barcelona and rivals Atletico Madrid were linked with Schjelderup in January. Dutch side Ajax had also shown an interest but now it looks like the 21-year-old could be on the way to Italy.

Andreas Schjelderup Transfer News

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano posted on his official X account on Tuesday confirming that Como has opened talks with Andreas Schjelderup.

The best Bitcoin betting sites are already leaning towards Lariani to secure a European spot in 2025-26. If Schjelerup is drafted into their roster, those chances will only increase further.

Head coach Cesc Fabregas views the young Norwegian as one of his priority targets this summer. The 2010 World Cup winner believes Schjelderup will perfectly complement the Como project.

Romano didn’t disclose a transfer fee but it’s likely to surpass the €17million club-record fee paid for Croatian starlet Martin Baturina earlier this month.

Andreas Schjelderup Style Of Play

Widely regarded as one of European soccer’s finest talents, many will be wondering what Andreas Schjelderup’s style of play is. Primarily a left winger, the 21-year-old can operate as a forward and attacking midfielder.

Schjelderup is a stylish and skillful player who likes to cut in from out wide and influence attacking phases of possession. He often draws players towards him which provides space for his team-mates to exploit.

Schjelderup is blessed with an abundance of pace, is extremely agile and possesses great dribbling skills. The Como target is also developing a keen eye for goal and his passing range is wide and varied.

For the Norwegian national side, Schjelderup has only made three appearances so far but he already has a strong relationship with global stars Martin Odegaard and Erling Haaland.

What Players Have Como Signed This Summer?

The Como project is really beginning to gather momentum this summer. Already this window, Cesc Fabregas has signed Ignace Van der Brempt, Alex Valle and Fellipe Jack.

Cesc’s most notable capture to date was the acquisition of Croatian star Martin Baturina. The 22-year-old joined from Dinamo Zagreb and has already been compared to Luka Modric.

All four players are expected to make their mark on the team but Schjelderup joining would really clarify Como’s intent to mix it with the big boys.

Fabregas looked certain to take the Inter job earlier this month but turned the Nerazzurri down. The Spaniard is going about creating a strong legacy at the Sinigaglia.
