AC Milan are close to making a decision over the future of Francesco Camarda, as the youngster has attracted interest from Serie A side, Lecce.
Who Is Francesco Camarda?
Francesco Camarda made history in his Serie A debut back in November 2023, as he became the youngest player to ever appear in a Serie A fixture.
The Italian was just 15-years and 260 days when he came off the bench against Fiorentina and was regarded as one of the best prospects to ever come through the ranks at AC Milan.
Since then, the striker has gone on to make 16 appearances for the Italian side and spent the majority of his time with Milan’s youth teams and Milan Futuro – the reserve side for AC Milan.
During the 2024/25 season, the 17-year-old made 35 appearances for the various Milan sides, contributing to nine goals and is yet to register a goal contribution for the senior side.
Camarda started just one Serie A match last season and is now being linked with a loan move away from the San Siro, in the hopes of getting regular minutes in Italy’s top flight.
Massimilano Allegri was appointed as the new AC Milan manager for the 2025/26 season and is already on the hunt for a new striker, amid rumors over a move Dusan Vlahovic after Juventus named their asking price for the Serbian.
This would suggest that Camarda’s playing-time in Milan would be on the lower side next season and reports have now linked one Serie A side that are interested in a possible loan deal.
Will AC Milan Loan Camarda Out For 2025/26 Season?
With Camarda’s playing-time in Milan looking unlikely to increase, Lecce are said to be eyeing up a loan deal for the 2008-born striker this summer.
Lecce finished 17th in the Serie A last season, just three points above the bottom three and will be looking for a talisman to move them away from the relegation zone.
The clubs’ last relegation from Serie A came in the 2019/20 season, as they finished 17th in the league and Lecce earned a place back in the top division two seasons later in 2022.
This constant battle with relegation has out them as one of the favorites to face the drop next season on Serie A betting sites and may play a part in Camarda’s decision.
Nikola Krstovic was Lecce’s primary source of goals last season, contributing to 17 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions (12G + 5A) and the striker was the only player to score over five league goals.
The Montenegrin international is reportedly close to completing a Premier League switch, as Leeds United are said to have agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old.
If this deal is completed then Lecce will have to acquire a new talisman up-front and a loan deal for Camarda could be their number one priority this summer.
Francesco Camarda’s deal in Milan is set to expire in June 2027 and the Italian side are not looking to sell their star prospect on a permanent basis.
