WATCH: Arsenal Vs Milan Highlights As Rossoneri Grab Penalty Shootout Victory

Start

Watch the Arsenal vs Milan highlights as the Gunners claimed a 1-0 victory in normal time but the Italians grabbed a fine 6-5 penalty shootout victory in Singapore.

Newly appointed head coach Max Allegri would have been proud of his side’s efforts. That despite being under the cosh for much of their opening friendly in Singapore.

The National Stadium in Kallang played host to the fixture. However, the stadia – which boasts an official capacity of 55,000 – wasn’t even half-filled.

Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the game in normal time when he turned home a cross from Jakub Kiwior. Milan did carve out a few chances of note but in the end, it was from the spot where the Rossoneri showed their worth.

Arsenal Vs Milan Highlights

Milan made a losing start to their tour of Asia campaign but did get the last laugh when they won on penalties. Bukayo Saka scored the only goal of the game after 53 minutes in Singapore.

The Gunners star turned home a Jakub Kiwior cross on a sweltering evening at the National Stadium in Kallang. The high humidity appeared to deter supporters with the official attendance being announced as 22,813.

Nonetheless, newly-appointed head coach Max Allegri could take plenty of positives from his side’s first pre-season match. Non competitive debuts were given to goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano and Samuele Ricci.

Allegri made a total of 11 changes throughout the course of the 90 minutes. There was no Luka Modric who has been given extra time off after representing Real Madrid at the Club World Cup.

Matteo Gabbia, Samuel Chukwueze, Warren Bondo, Filippo Terracciano and Matteo Dutu all netted their penalties.

Who Will Milan Play In Asia?

After their opening game against Arsenal, Serie A giants Milan will next face Liverpool in Hong Kong. That game will take place on July 26.

The two European heavyweights certainly have history. The most famous encounter came in the 2005 UCL final. The Rossoneri were 3-0 up before the Reds fought back to level the game at 3-3.

Rafa Benitez’s men would go on to win on penalties in what was known as the ‘Miracle of Istanbul.’ The best betting apps have all the latest odds and markets ahead of the clash.

Completing the tour is a trip to Australia to face Perth Glory. That fixture will take place on July 31. Max Allegri’s men will return to Perth in February next year when they take on Como in a Serie A fixture.
