Atalanta striker El-Bilal Toure is set to join Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart after the two clubs reached a final agreement on the terms of his transfer. The negotiations, which had been ongoing for some time, have now concluded with both parties settling on a loan deal that includes a mandatory purchase option.
Initially, there was a disagreement over the nature of the buy clause. Atalanta pushed for an obligation to buy, while Stuttgart preferred an optional purchase. However, after extensive discussions, the clubs have compromised on a mandatory buy option, subject to certain conditions.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the financial structure of the deal is as follows: Stuttgart will pay an initial €4 million for the season-long loan. Upon meeting the specified conditions, they will be obligated to pay an additional €18 million, plus potential add-ons of €2 million. Atalanta has also secured a 15% sell-on clause as part of the agreement.
This transfer marks a significant moment for Toure, who joined Atalanta last summer for a club-record fee of €30 million from Almeria. However, his time in Italy was marred by injuries and competition for playing time, particularly from Gianluca Scamacca.
The move to Stuttgart represents a fresh start for Toure, who had already agreed to personal terms with the German club earlier this month. Both clubs will be hoping this transfer proves beneficial, with Stuttgart gaining a talented striker and Atalanta recouping a substantial portion of their initial investment.
