Juventus continue to work diligently to secure Teun Koopmeiners for their squad, aiming to fulfill Thiago Motta’s vision for the team. The Dutch midfielder has been a target for the Bianconeri since March, and a preliminary agreement has already been reached. However, Atalanta remains firm in their stance, unwilling to sell their prized player without a substantial offer.
Calciomercato report that the agreement between Juventus and Koopmeiners, facilitated by Cristiano Giuntoli and the player’s entourage, includes a five-year contract with an annual net salary of 4.5 million euros plus bonuses. Despite this, Atalanta’s CEO Luca Percassi has reiterated that the club does not plan to sell Koopmeiners, emphasizing the need for a significant offer to even consider negotiations.
Percassi recently commented on the situation during the presentation of Atalanta’s new sponsor Acqua Lete, stating, “Koopmeiners? It’s like in the past days, sometimes it’s good to be repetitive. It’s not in our plans to sell him. Anyone who leaves will be replaced, but today it’s not an urgency, nor a priority.”
The main hurdle remains Juventus’ need to present an offer that would persuade Atalanta to part with Koopmeiners. The valuation set by Atalanta is high, exceeding 60 to 65 million euros. Juventus must first generate significant funds through player sales, with Soulé and Huijsen being the likely candidates to leave, to make a viable bid for Koopmeiners.
