The deal is structured as a loan with a fee of 1 million euros, accompanied by an option to make the move permanent for 7 million euros. Interestingly, the agreement includes a penalty clause of 1 million euros if Atalanta decides not to exercise the purchase option.
Posch is expected to travel to Bergamo either this evening or on the morning of Monday, February 3rd, to complete the move. This transfer comes as a timely reinforcement for Atalanta, who have been grappling with defensive injuries.
The 27-year-old versatile defender, who can play both as a center-back and right-back, has made 20 appearances for Bologna this season in Serie A and the Champions League. His experience and flexibility could prove valuable for Atalanta as they continue their campaign in multiple competitions.
