Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners has picked up an injury while on duty with the Netherlands during their friendly match against Scotland. A statement from the Dutch federation confirmed the news, stating:
“Teun Koopmeiners will not travel to Frankfurt with the team. The midfielder sustained an injury in the match against Scotland and will not be able to recover for the game against Germany.”
The Atalanta man had come on as a substitute for Georgino Wijnaldum in the 82nd minute of the match last Friday, and remained on the field until the final whistle blew. The Dutch national team confirmed Koopmeiners’ injury today, and the conditions of the midfielder are to be evaluated in the coming days.
